This is where i explain things a little further I suppose. I had the flu jab a while back and it made me ill. (They always say it won’t!!) So stuck in my house I looked for something to watch on ITVX and I stumbled across A Fine Romance, with Judi Dench and her late husband Michael Williams. It was heart warming and hilarious in equal measure. So I wrote a poem about it.
And thinking of Judi Dench is what made me think of doing something with my random collection of poems. She was about my age in A Fine Romance, and look at all she has done since! I felt inspired to do something…..
Whilst sick at home I sought to see
As Time Goes By - it’s lovely
But TV wanted pounds from me
So I looked for another
Soon I saw and seized my chance
I had heard of A Fine Romance
I’d sometimes had a sneaky glance
When watched by my dear mother
And so my week was beautified
And countless decades slipped aside
I smiled, I laughed, perhaps I cried -
Sweet love not hid in fiction
So for you both, my thanks are true
(For all the Shakespeare acting too)
But when he shared the scene with you
Shone something like perfection
