To whom does poetry belong?
And where does it reside?
Within the hearts of those who love
Or those who’ve ever tried
In souls of grieving parents
Whose precious child has passed
It lives inside the tired soul
Hoping to the last
It’s in the eyes of children
Listening to a mother’s song
It’s here within our troubles
And when we’ve suffered long
For written in a poem
Spoken as we truly feel
Say it - fear or grief or anguish
There’s a balm to help you heal
